1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent, MS66 Red
Rarely Offered Finer

1909-S 1C VDB MS66 Red PCGS. The 1909-S VDB is the acknowledged key issue in the Lincoln cent series and one of the most famous issues in all of American numismatics. Generations of coin collectors began as children searching for the 1909-S VDB in pocket change. Today, advanced collectors pursue high-end Red Mint State pieces. This issue is scarce but collectible in MS66 Red, while finer Red coins are decidedly rare. Smooth copper-orange luster is devoid of abrasions and spots on this Premium Gem Red example. The strike is sharp throughout, with bold designer's initials, and eye appeal is excellent. Housed in a green label holder. PCGS has graded 15 numerically finer examples (4/22).
