Description
1787 Miller 32.1-X.3 Connecticut Copper, AU55
Condition Census
1787 Connecticut, Draped Bust Left, M. 32.1-X.3, W-3215, R.4,
AU55 NGC. A condition census example that is similar in quality
to the small handful of other AU examples known to us. Steel-blue
toning is displayed at the top of the obverse on this olive and
dark chocolate-brown example that retains considerable cartwheel
luster. The strike is nicely centered with complete legends, a full
date, and well over half of the borders on the flan. This piece
falls just short of the MS60 grade written on Donald G. Partrick's
envelope. Close examination yields a hint of faded mint red. Listed
on page 66 of the 2021 Guide Book.Ex: Jon Hanson (1/4/2001); Donald G. Partrick.
Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 685386, Base PCGS# 370)
