S.S. Central America With Pinch, 20A
1857-S $20 Spiked Shield, Variety 20A, S.S. Central
America With Pinch, MS65 PCGS. Ex: S.S. Central
America. Bob Evans Signature. Variety 20A Spiked Shield, which
is displayed in the lower left (facing) shield as a spike in a
diagonally upward direction. This splendid example has rich
yellow-gold toning with orange highlights for a very attractive
appearance. Fully struck with excellent detail, along with thick,
frosty luster radiating over the surfaces. Only a few small marks
on well preserved surfaces. A wonderful San Francisco branch mint
No Motto double eagle in Gem Uncirculated with an interesting story
to tell, as it was part of the 2014 recovery efforts to bring up
more coins and bars from the so-called Ship of Gold, which
sank one hundred miles off the coast of the Carolinas in September
