1926-S $20 --Improperly Cleaned--NCS. Unc. Details. Lustrous, sharply struck, and nearly free from bagmarks. Slightly glossy, but there are no obvious hairlines. More than 2 million 1926-S double eagles were struck, but most were retained by the Treasury and eventually melted following the 1933 gold recall.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26GF, PCGS# 9185, Greysheet# 10183)
