Heavily Melted Issue
1925-D $20 MS63 NGC. Despite a generous mintage of 2.9
million pieces, the 1925-D Saint-Gaudens double eagle is a scarce
issue in all grades, thanks to heavy melting after the Gold Recall
of 1933. This impressive Select specimen offers sharply detailed
design elements and lustrous orange-gold surfaces that show only
minor signs of contact. Census: 62 in 63 (1 in 63+), 94 finer
