Description

1877-CC Half Eagle, AU55 CAC
Low-Mintage Old West Issue

1877-CC $5 AU55 PCGS. CAC. Winter 1-B. Ex: The Fairmont Collection. Among Carson City half eagle issues, the 1877-CC has the fourth lowest mintage at 8,680 pieces. Rusty Goe estimates just 130 to 165 survivors in all grades. Choice AU examples are important rarities. Generous portions of orange-red luster illuminates the legends and motifs of this pleasing representative. No marks are of individual consequence, and the strike shows only minor blending near the centers. It would prove a great challenge to locate another original specimen of the present quality. Population: 13 in 55, 9 finer. CAC: 5 in 55, 1 finer (11/24).
