1879-CC Five Dollar, MS61 CAC
Condition Census Quality

1879-CC $5 MS61 PCGS. CAC. Winter 1-A. Ex: The Fairmont Collection. The 1879-CC is a better Carson City issue. A scant 17,281 pieces were produced, and about 250 examples have survived. Only a handful remain in Mint State. The present Uncirculated coin displays rose-red toning in design recesses. The open fields are butter-gold. The strike is good. Marks of even remote notice are surprisingly few, limited to contact near the shafts of the arrows. The upper obverse exhibits occasional hints of granularity. Population: 4 in 61, 2 finer.
