Description

1921 Walking Liberty Half, MS65
Popular Low-Mintage Issue

1921 50C MS65 PCGS. The 1921 Walking Liberty half dollar claims a mintage of 246,000 pieces, the second-lowest business-strike production total of the series. Apparently, a number of high-quality specimens were saved by contemporary collectors, as the issue is not as rare in high grade as the low mintage would suggest. Still, the 1921 is very scarce in MS65 condition, and a prime condition rarity any finer.

The present coin is an attractive Gem, with a relatively sharp strike that shows distinct separation between Liberty's thumb and finger on the wreath hand. The well-preserved, mostly brilliant surfaces show a few hints of golden-tan toning, with vibrant mint luster on both sides. Eye appeal is terrific. Population: 59 in 65 (7 in 65+), 4 finer (11/17).
