Marvelous Gem Prooflike 1879-CC Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS65 Prooflike PCGS. While the mention of a Carson City Morgan dollar conjures up visions of glittering Gems released via the GSA sales, that image is far from reality for the 1879-CC issue. With only a fraction of the original mintage saved, high-end coins are the exception, not the rule. Most collectors would be delighted to own this particular "exception", coming as it does with impressively reflective fields and richly frosted, sharply struck central devices that show a touch of rose-orange patina. Minimally toned elsewhere and in fantastic condition. Tied for the finest Prooflike example known to NGC or PCGS (11/08).
