Description

1845 Quarter Eagle, Flashy MS65
The Single Finest Certified

1845 $2 1/2 MS65 NGC. Even though this is one of the more available issues of the 1840's, Mint State examples are very scarce, and are virtually unobtainable in Gem condition. Indeed, the present MS65 is the only, and the finest, certified by either NGC or PCGS (8/14).

Both sides yield scintillating luster emitted from yellow-gold surfaces, and the design elements are sharply impressed except for the usually seen softness on the eagle's left (facing) leg. The surfaces are well-preserved on each side. These attributes combine to give this piece tremendous eye appeal, while an interesting bisecting die crack spans the reverse from 7 to 1 o'clock. This coin will be the centerpiece of a fine Liberty Head quarter eagle collection.
