Description
1820 50C Square Base 2, Large Date, Knob, O-105a, R.3, AU53 PCGS. No fewer than five different styles of 2 were used for the mintage of 1820 halves. O-105a employs the Large Square Base 2 (with Knob). Struck from a late die state with four large die cracks on the obverse, this sharp and richly toned example retains much of its original mint luster beneath a handsome blend of blue, slate-gray, and russet toning. Marks are few and the eye appeal is considerable.From The Southeast Kansas Collection
