1880 Eight-Coin Proof Set
Cent Through Dollar, PR64-PR66 Cameo
1880 Eight-Coin Proof Set, Cent Through Trade Dollar, Certified
by NGC. A total of 1,355 silver proofs sets were sold in 1880.
This is a complete eight-coin set from the cent through the dollar,
including both Trade and Morgan types. Certified by NGC in
consecutively serialized holders.Indian Cent PR66 Red and Brown NGC. A magnificent example with flashy fields and amazing magenta, violet, and blue toning over warm coppery surfaces.
Three Cent Nickel PR65 Cameo NGC. Key date in the series with brilliant silver surfaces and reflective fields. Only one visible tick on the cheek.
Shield Nickel PR66 Cameo NGC. This boldly contrasted Premium Gem proof is a great alternative to the rare circulation strikes. Entirely brilliant and nearly void of contact.
Seated Dime PR66 Cameo NGC. The obverse is all-brilliant, while the reverse displays a couple of thin specks of blue patina near the denomination. Reflective fields and thickly frosted devices.
Seated Quarter PR66 Cameo NGC. A brilliant proof that closely matches the dime. Russet patina colors the left reverse border without diminishing the Cameo effect.
Seated Half PR65 Cameo NGC. Like its silver denomination predecessors, this half is brilliant and thickly frosted with appealing watery mirrors. Two marks on Liberty's thigh.
Trade Dollar PR66 Cameo NGC. Yet another fully brilliant Premium Gem proof with eye-catching field-device contrast. Reflective surfaces show a slight cartwheel effect. A proof-only issue in the series.
Morgan Dollar PR64 Cameo NGC. CAC. A few wisps of gold on the obverse complement virtually brilliant surfaces. High-end for the grade.
