Description
1788 1/2 C Massachusetts Half Cent AU53 PCGS. Ryder 1-B, R.3. Only two varieties are known for 1788-dated Half Cents, which are scarcer than their 1787 counterparts. A crisply detailed walnut-brown Commonwealth Copper with a possible fingerprint on the left obverse. There are no conspicuous marks. Although state coinage was allowed in the Articles of Confederation, the U.S. Constitution removed this privilege.
