Elusive PCGS XF40 Cohen-4 1793 Half Cent
1793 1/2 C XF40 PCGS. B-4, C-4, R.3. Manley Die State 2.0, with a die defect (as made) above the 7 in the date. The medium reddish-brown and lilac patina is attractive and original. The obverse has a few tiny contact marks, and the E in AMERICA has a faint scrape, but the legends and devices are bold. First year Half Cents are not only scarce and historic, but they represent only a single year type, as the head faces right on subsequent years of the Liberty Cap series.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2222, PCGS# 1000, Greysheet# 429)
