Description
1863 Pattern Three-Cent Piece, Judd-319
1863 Three-Cents, Judd-319, Pollock-384, R.5-6, PR 64 Red and Brown PCGS. The obverse is similar to the old Braided Hair Large cent design with much smaller digits in the date. The reverse has 3 CENTS in the center and is surrounded by a laurel wreath with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the margin. Struck in bronze or copper with a plain edge. Medium brown patina covers most of each side and is accented with copper-red color in the protected areas. Sharp and essentially unspotted.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 70476, Greysheet# 12580)
