Description
1892-S Double Eagle, MS63
Frosty and Vibrant
1892-S $20 MS63 PCGS. The 1892-S is among the plentiful
dates of the 1890s from San Francisco, boasting an impressive
mintage of more than 930,000 coins, which largely served
international trade needs at the time of release. The date is
collectible today as fine as MS63 and is occasionally finer, though
there is little reason to pass by the current coin. Frosty luster
forms vibrant cartwheel bands around each side, illuminating rich
orange-gold and pale rose hues. Some obligatory marks on Liberty's
cheek and in the field define the grade, though they present little
visual impact to the unaided eye.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26C7, PCGS# 9021, Greysheet# 9952)
Weight: 33.44 grams
