Description

1894-S Double Eagle, MS63
Frosty Luster, S-Mint Type Coin

1894-S $20 MS63 PCGS. Slightly more than 1 million double eagles were struck at San Francisco in 1894, and the date is plentiful today in the lower-to-middle Uncirculated grades. Type collectors may prefer this date over more common Philadelphia coins like the 1904. The present example displays frosty rose-gold mint luster with greenish border accents and sharp definition. Light, scattered surface marks on the obverse define the grade as expected.(Registry values: N1793)
