1979 Half Dollar, Near-Mint
Struck on an Anthony Dollar Flan
1979 50C Half Dollar -- Struck on an Anthony Dollar Planchet --
AU58 NGC. 8.1 gm. An uncommon wrong planchet combination. The
base of the date is off the flan but all four date digits are
obvious. The peripheral legends exhibit spreading toward the rim,
characteristic of the error category. Lustrous with light gold
toning and exceptionally mark-free surfaces.
