Scarce Proof Variety

1856 1/2 C PR63 Brown PCGS. CAC. B-3, R.4. Doubling on the T of CENT and on the ribbon identifies this proof variety. Well struck and void of contact. Deeply patinated with sea-green and rose-red undertones. Although traditionally designated as Rarity-4, the proof 1856 appears scarcer, since PCGS has certified just 41 specimens in all grades, a number of which are resubmissions over the past 27 years. Our EAC grade PR60. Population: 7 in 63 Brown, 16 finer. CAC: 1 in 63, 7 finer (9/16).(Registry values: P1)
