Description

1856-O Ten Dollar, AU50
Scarce in About Uncirculated Grades

1856-O $10 AU50 NGC. Variety 1. This advanced die state of Variety 1 shows die rust within the coronet. As one would expect from a New Orleans gold piece, as well as a coin with only 14,500 pieces struck, there are few AU and Mint State pieces available for collectors. Even wear is seen over the high points of the devices, and numerous, small marks are scattered over each side. The only mentionable abrasions are a couple of longer ones in the left obverse field.
