Description

1858 Small Letters Flying Eagle Cent
Judd-192, Copper-Nickel, PR65

1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-192, Pollock-235, Snow-PT13, R.5, PR65 PCGS. CAC. Eagle Eye Photo Seal, card included. The obverse is the familiar Small Letters 1858 cent. The pattern reverse generally resembles the 1860 regular issue reverse, but there is no shield at the top and the wreath is closed. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Each side retains most of the original light honey-tan color inherent in copper-nickel cents. The fields display strong mirrors and there is significant mint frost over the devices, enough to see cameo contrast on each side.
