Description

1849-C Quarter Eagle, About Uncirculated
Attractive, Light Reddish-Tinted Surfaces

1849-C $2 1/2 AU50 PCGS. Only one die pairing was used to strike the 10,200 quarter eagles from this branch mint in 1849. Only 125-150 pieces are believed known today in all grades, most of which are predictably VF-XF. The yellow-gold surfaces display light reddish patina over each side, and the strike is reasonably strong for a C-mint. Lightly abraded.(Registry values: P2)
