1867 Ultra Cameo Seated Dollar, PR65
All-White, Starkly Contrasted
1867 $1 PR65 Ultra Cameo NGC. Proof 1867 Seated dollars were
only distributed as part of the silver proof sets of this year, and
a mere 625 sets were produced. This is an impressive, all-white Gem
proof. The strike is needle-sharp, and the contrast between the
thickly frosted devices and the mirrored fields is profound and
very pleasing. Only 625 proofs were struck in 1867, and far fewer
survive than are needed to satisfy the demand from collectors of
this challenging series. Extremely scarce in Cameo condition.
