1856 Liberty Octagonal Half, MS64
BG-307, Rusted Die State
1856 50C Liberty Octagonal 50 Cents, BG-307, High R.5, MS64
NGC. Breen-Gillio Die State II with rust near the CA in
CALIFORNIA. The sole Frontier, Deviercy & Co. octagonal half
variety with a star below the date. This peach-gold and lime-green
representative has a consistent strike and moderately reflective
fields. The central reverse exhibits a few "ghosts" from the
portrait, some toned cherry-red. NGC has certified only 12 BG-307
examples, with the present piece as the single finest (3/18).From The David Sunshine Collection.
