Description
Wildly Toned Choice 1809 Half Dollar
1809 50C MS64 NGC. O-115a, R.3. Die cracks through the sixth star and the 0 in the date affirm the late die state. Cartwheel luster readily penetrates the exuberant ruby-red, aquamarine, lilac, and sky-blue patina. Well struck aside from the eagle's left (facing) shoulder. A beautifully preserved near-Gem, and surely within the Condition Census for the variety. Struck from a multiply clashed reverse die.
