1847-D $2 1/2 AU58+ NGC. CAC. Variety 9-M. The 1847-D
Liberty quarter eagle claims a mintage of 15,784 pieces, and the
surviving population probably numbers around 175-200 examples in
all grades. This high-end near-Mint specimen shows only a touch of
wear on the design elements, with satiny mint luster and rose-gold
surfaces that are remarkably free of major contact marks. Census: 1
