Description

1973 Eisenhower Dollar, MS66+
Important Registry Candidate

1973 $1 MS66+ PCGS. Ex: Sonoran Monsoon. The Guide Book explains that only 1.7 million of the 2 million Eisenhower dollars struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1973 were released in sets. The issue was never intended for circulation, and unissued coins were destroyed. Although the 1973 was produced for numismatic purposes, Premium Gems are very scarce, and this is one of only two Plus-designated examples at PCGS with none finer (11/15). Nickel-gray surfaces glisten with radiant luster and show only faint russet accents around the margins. The devices are boldly rendered, and a few hair-thin grazes appear over each side.
