Description
1855-S $5 XF45 NGC. Scarce in all grades and incredibly rare in Mint State, the 1855-S half eagle is elusive in pleasing condition. This Choice XF example boasts original, medium orange-gold patina with significant mint luster remaining in the protected areas. Light wear is seen over the high points of the design, but strong detail remains overall, particularly on the eagle feathers.(Registry values: P7)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25UU, PCGS# 8265, Greysheet# 9017)
