Description
One of the Finest Known 1894 Eagles
1894 MS 64 PCGS. A dramatic condition rarity that is plentifully available in the lower grades of mint state, but is virtually unobtainable any finer than MS 63. To demonstrate how precipitously the numbers drop off, the September Population Report shows that 168 pieces have received the MS 63 grade while only 3 are graded MS 64, with none finer. This is a sharply struck coin that has rich reddish-golden color and excellent luster characteristics. A long mark is noted in the lower right obverse field, and prevents consideration at an even higher grade level.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2675, PCGS# 8729, Greysheet# 9415)
