Conditionally Challenging 1917-D Quarter, MS 67 Full Head PCGS
1917-D 25C Type One MS 67 Full Head PCGS. Although rarely recognized as such, the 1917-D Type One quarter is substantially scarcer than its P-mint counterpart in all levels of Mint State preservation. In his book Standing Liberty Quarters, Keith N. Kelman asserts that Superb Gem Full Head representatives of this D-mint delivery are "very difficult to locate." Given the popularity of the series, we doubt that advanced collectors will overlook the fleeting opportunity that this lovely piece represents. Vivid and lustrous, the surfaces are devoid of even the faintest patina and glow with cosmic luminosity. The razor sharp strike allows for full appreciation of every last design element from Liberty's head to the eagle's breast feathers. Pristine and mark-free throughout, the surfaces possess eye appeal that somehow manages to outstrip the already memorable technical quality. This is simply a beautiful example of numismatic art. From the Frank G. Laiacona Collection of Standing Liberty Quarters.
