Description

Nagy Restrike 1850 Baldwin Ten
MS63, Gilt Copper, K-1c

"1850" 'Restrike' Baldwin & Co. Ten Dollar, Gilt Copper MS63 NGC. K-1c, R.6. An early die state without any cuds or buckling. The dies are rusted, as always seen for this rare 1909 Stephen K. Nagy copy dies production. The original Baldwin ten dollar "Horseman" variety (Kagin-3) is among the best known and highly coveted pioneer gold varieties. The present Nagy restrike ten has mirrored fields and crisply struck devices. One small spot near the obverse rim at 11:30, but post-strike abrasions are minimal. As of (11/11), NGC has certified just two examples of K-1c.
