Very Scarce 1879-O Ten in VF 30
1879-O VF 30 PCGS. The '79-O has the second lowest mintage of any eagle from the New Orleans mint, with a production of 1,500 pieces. Of the few collectible coins known, most all are circulated and predominately grade VF and XF. This specimen displays moderate wear and retains much of the prooflike fields that most survivors are known for. Deep reddish patina surrounds the devices (also typical for the issue), and there are several more obvious abrasions, primarily located on the profile of Liberty.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265P, PCGS# 8685, Greysheet# 9489)
