1773 1/2P Virginia Halfpenny, Period MS63 Red and Brown NGC. Newman 27-J. The A in VIRGINIA shows clear repunching. While the surfaces of this attractive Select colonial show areas of mahogany, regions of the shields are pumpkin-orange as well. A pleasing representative of this interesting issue, listed on page 43 of the 2008 Guide Book.
