Description

Lustrous 1903-S Dollar, MS64

1903-S $1 MS64 PCGS. Large S. Pleasing luster issues from both sides of this near-Gem and a well executed strike leaves strong definition on the design features. Silver-white surfaces reveal a few minute marks that deny Gem classification. David Bowers (2006) opines that hundreds of thousands of the 1.241 million coinage were probably melted under the 1918 Pittman Act and various later melts. Housed in a green label holder.(Registry values: P7, N2998)
