Description

Sharply Struck 1849-O Open Wreath Gold Dollar, MS64

1849-O G$1 Open Wreath MS64 PCGS. All known examples of the 1849-O gold dollar are of the Open Wreath variety. This lustrous near-Gem displays apricot-gold and mint-green patination, and a decisive strike delivers sharp definition to the design elements, enhancing the coin's eye appeal. A few trivial marks preclude Gem status. Population: 15 in 64, 4 finer (12/09).
