1857-S Three Dollar Gold, AU55
Conditionally Rare Issue
1857-S $3 AU55 PCGS. Large S Mintmark as always. Both sides
of this greenish-gold example exhibit slight field reflectivity
with minor hairlines and other handling marks. A small surface
anomaly, possibly a lamination, appears at the bottom of the
reverse, left of the mintmark and below the left ribbon end. This
issue is rare in Mint State grades, and even the appearance of a
Choice AU is unusual. Population: 14 in 55, 11 finer (8/16).From The Twelve Oaks Collection.(Registry values: N2998)
