Description

1867 Ten Dollar, AU53
Only 3,090 Coins Minted

1867 $10 AU53 PCGS. Survival estimates for the issue have ranged from 50 to 75 coins to 75 to 100 coins. Whether the actual number is closer to the lower or upper end of that relatively narrow spectrum, the 1867 ranks among the most elusive Coronet eagles. Only 3,090 examples were struck. This prooflike example features orange-gold surfaces with a number of small abrasions, including two milling marks below the scroll end. Well-detailed despite minor high-point friction. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 2 in 53, 11 finer (7/16).
