Brilliant 1854 Three Dollar Gold, MS61
1854 $3 MS61 NGC. The first year of issue and with the highest mintage of any three dollar gold piece, the 1854 is also a one-year subtype in the series with small letters in DOLLARS. The mintage totaled 138,618 coins, or 25% of the total mintage for the denomination through 1889. This sharp piece is brilliant and lustrous, with lovely yellow mint frost.
