Exquisite AU58 Noe-33 1652 Pine Tree Sixpence

1652 6PENCE Pine Tree Sixpence AU58 PCGS. CAC. Crosby 1-A, Noe-33, R.3. A scarce Pine Tree denomination known from only two die marriages, one of which (Noe-32) is very rare. The present piece is Noe-33, identified by the obverse alignment, which is offset toward 12 o'clock. The reverse is perfectly centered and has complete legends. A later die state with the vertical break to the left of the 6 now plain. This splendid and satiny example is toned chocolate-brown, apple-green, and gold. Thorough inspection beneath a loupe locates only a hair-thin mark in front of the L in ENGLAND. Listed on page 37 of the 2009 Guide Book. Population: 2 in 58, 3 finer (5/08).

Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 22, Greysheet# 6)
