AU50 Sharpness 1879-CC Double Eagle

1879-CC $20 --Cleaned--ANACS. AU50 Details. A polished example of this low mintage CC-mint issue. The bright surfaces are less abraded than expected, although a thin mark connects the bust tip to the first obverse star. The 1879-CC would be the final Carson City double eagle issue until 1882, although half eagles and eagles were struck at the facility in both 1880 and 1881.(Registry values: N2998)
