William & Mary silver "Battle of La Hogue" Medal 1692 AU58 NGC, MI-67-272 (Plate XC, Number 10). 45mm. By Georg Hautsch. William III bust on a pedestal flanked by putti holding palm fronds and the shields of England and Holland, portico behind with statues of the fleet commanders and busts of the vanquished // Time sits at the bottom of a tall tablet, flanked by Victory and Fame, inscribing the story of the battle. High relief and cabinet toning make this a lovely specimen to behold, iridescent flashes in fields make the handling experience all the more dramatic.
