Description
Fully Struck Gem Red 1928-S Lincoln Cent
1928-S 1C MS65 Red PCGS. While not nearly as elusive in Gem condition as the notorious 1917-1927 run of San Francisco mint issues that precede it, the rarity of fully struck, high-grade 1928-S specimens is nearly unparalleled within the series. This present example, however, exhibits a full strike, with remarkably well-defined legends and crisply detailed devices. An even mixture of bold green-gold, orange, and rose hues covers pristine, shimmering surfaces, with a few trivial toning spots on the reverse mentioned for accuracy. Population: 40 in 65 Red, 5 finer (9/08).From The Jack Lee Estate, Inventory.(Registry values: N1793)
