1855 Flying Eagle Cent Pattern
1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-167 Original, Pollock-193, R.5,
PR64 Red and Brown NGC. A large cent-sized Flying Eagle pattern
featuring a hooked-neck eagle, slanting 5s on the obverse, and ONE
CENT in the center of the reverse surrounded by a thick laurel
wreath similar to that of a Coronet cent. Struck in copper with a
plain edge. Weight 99.1 grains, 100% pure copper. While blue hues
dominate this near-Gem, considerable pumpkin-orange clings to the
margins and the central lettering of the reverse. Luminous and
