Description
Luminous Superb Gem 1936-S Arkansas Half
1936-S 50C Arkansas MS67 PCGS. Ex: JFS Collection. Walter Breen's cryptic musings about Confederate symbolism notwithstanding, the Arkansas half presents itself as a straightforward, if uninspired celebration of that state's centennial. A rich coating of dappled olive, russet, and crimson patina blankets the obverse, while the reverse remains essentially untoned. A seemingly pristine example of this low-mintage issue, tied for the finest certified by either NGC or PCGS (11/07).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYFA, PCGS# 9239, Greysheet# 10229)
