1793 Chain Cent, XF40
S-3, B-4, Late Die State
1793 Chain 1C AMERICA XF40 NGC. S-3, B-4, R.3. Our EAC Grade
VF20. Ex: Mervis Collection. A lovely steel and chestnut-brown
example with mostly smooth and somewhat glossy surfaces showing
excellent eye appeal. Tiny obverse rim bumps appear at 6, 8, and 9
o'clock. Scattered surface marks include a short scrape right of
the Y in LIBERTY, and a trivial patch of hairlines is noted inside
the rim between the final S in STATES and the O in OF. Breen Die
State III. Heavy clash marks appear in front of the face and below
the bust, heavier than on the PCGS XF40 example of this variety
offered below.From The Adam Mervis Large Cent Collection.(Registry values: N7079)
