C. Servilius M.f. (ca. 136 BC). AR fourée denarius (19mm, 3.29 gm, 5h). VF, gouge, die shift. Rome. ROMA, head of Roma right, wearing pendant earring, pendant necklace, and winged helmet surmounted by griffin crest; wreath above XVI monogram (mark of value) behind / C•SERVEILI•M•F, Dioscuri on horseback rearing in opposite directions, heads turned toward each other, each holding transverse reversed spear and wearing pileus surmounted by star. Crawford 239/1. Sydenham 525. NGC noted that this coin is perhaps plated and no decision, thus ineligible for encapsulation. Our XFR confirmed that it is plated.
