1794 S-23, B-7 Cent, VF Details
1794 1C Head of 1794 -- Tooled -- NGC Details. VF. S-23, B-7, High R.4. Our EAC Grade Good 6. Ex: Mervis Collection. Breen Die State V. The obverse has heavy die cracks, including a bisecting crack through the pole and neck, to the upper edge of the cap and the border. Light brown and tan appear on the roughened dark brown surfaces of this cent. Both sides show old, hard porosity, with extensive tooling or burnishing to smooth those surfaces. This piece is recorded as Fine 12 and holds the 19th position in Al Boka's census. The sharpness is at least VF20 but substantial deductions are necessary.Ex: Summer FUN Convention (7/2009); Greg Hannigan.
