1794 S-45, B-35 Cent, AU Details
Tied for Fourth Finest Known
1794 1C Head of 1794 -- Repaired -- NGC Details. AU. S-45, B-35,
High R.5. Our EAC Grade VF25. Ex: Mervis Collection. Breen Die
State II. The reverse is cracked through ICA. Myriad slivers in the
reverse die leave raised diagonal bars on the coin. These are seen
on all known examples. The sharpness is at least XF (Bland says
AU50), and the obverse devices are covered in fine, microscopic
scratches that are defined as repair by NGC. Both sides have
handling marks and myriad rim nicks. Despite the physical
description of this deep steel-brown example, we are certain that
prospective bidders will find a positive-appearing S-45 cent when
