1794 S-49, B-41 Cent, XF40
Early Die State
1794 1C Head of 1794 XF40 NGC. S-49, B-41, R.2. Our EAC Grade
VF30. Ex: Mervis Collection. Breen Die State I. Minor obverse
clash marks are visible, with no trace of the upper obverse die
crack found in later die states. Intermingled golden-tan and
olive-brown on both sides, with smooth surfaces. Very slight
roughness appears on both sides with a small scratch along the
upper edge of the cap, and a patch of fine reverse pinscratches
between the final A and the right ribbon.Ex: Mike's Early Coppers (11/2009); Greg Hannigan.
