BRITAIN. Regini-Atrebates. Tincomarus (ca. 25 BC-AD 10). AV quarter-stater (10mm, 1.15 gm, 6h). NGC AU★ 5/5 - 5/5. TINC, legend in relief on corded tablet; C above, A below / Head of Medusa facing, wings on brow. Van Arsdell 378. ABC 1076. Lustrous surfaces on an eye-catching caramel-colored flan.

According to Van Arsdell, the coinage of Celtic Britain after the Gallic Wars was debased with silver and copper, resulting in an alloy that was closer to modern-day 10k gold. Its distinctive reddish hue can be attributed to the higher copper content.
